Our client is a rapidly growing company specialising in fleet repairs. With the opening of a new workshop dedicated to their fleet of vans, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Mechanic to join their team.
Position Overview
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of vans. This role combines workshop-based tasks with on-site repairs, ensuring the operational efficiency of our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and conduct routine maintenance on commercial vans, cars, and other company equipment.
* Carry out vehicle inspections and MOT checks.
* Ensure all routine maintenance or repair work is documented accurately and promptly.
* Report any defective tools or workshop equipment.
* Observe safe working practices at all times.
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience in motor repairs and diagnosis.
* A minimum of Level 2 qualification in motor vehicle technology (e.g.City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Attendance of a mechanical engineering course.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety practices, including a good understanding of tyres.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Clean driving licence (highly desirable).
Desirable Skills
* Exposure to commercial vehicles and a willingness to switch focus as needed.
