Pektron Group Ltd is searching for a Production / Manufacturing Engineer who will, through the use of design, quality and lean tools ensure that all products are made efficiently and to the defined quality level using new and existing technologies.

HQ in Derby is home to our Engineering, Manufacturing, Design, Testing, Quality and Support functions, whilst our Sales and Technology centre in Detroit supports our customers in the US.
Responsibilities:
1. Experience with Design and Process improvement activity at senior level, able to identify improvement opportunities and make a change.
2. Works with Internal Departments and Customer’s to push DFM.
3. Being competent in CAD packages eg Autocad/Solidworks/Catia to work with above.
4. A good problem solver being able to identify root cause and corrective action.
5. Experience with manual methods of assembly of metal cases, plastic enclosures, prestige parts etc.
6. Lean and Six Sigma knowledge.
7. Understands material flow throughout the cell.
8. Sees improvement opportunities and acts on them.
9. Process experience in automation, optionally including potting, auto-dispense systems, ultrasonic welding, laser welding(plastic) printed circuit board assembly etc.
10. Minimum 5 year experience as Production Engineer in a relevant background.
11. Experience of automation and handling systems.
12. Working in New Product Introduction.
13. Working with New Assembly Technologies.
Duties:
1. Process Improvement, “making a change”.
2. Cell layouts.
3. Supporting Shop Floor and Production Engineers.
4. Identification of fixtures and equipment for new product.
5. Preparation of PFMEA’s.
6. Process Flow.
7. Operator Instructions.
8. 8D assist.
