The Opportunity … As an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of work packages within the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Turbine Programme. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the impact of your work on the broader project and ensuring alignment with overall project objectives. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager for Installation & Commissioning (Turbine Programme), you will manage activities related to the prefabrication, transport, storage, installation, and commissioning of Turbine Hall Piping. You will be accountable for the entire lifecycle of the contract or work package, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning. Your role will involve ensuring that all aspects of planning and execution are carried out in compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budgetary requirements, while also aligning with the Project's overall timeline and goals. What you’ll be doing… As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for defining the work scope for contracts or packages and managing the interfaces with other program elements. You will ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, maintaining a clear and consistent flow of information throughout the project. Your role will also involve overseeing the safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery of contract activities, while monitoring progress and providing regular updates to key stakeholders. You will proactively identify and resolve potential issues, manage risks, and handle any required updates to budgets or schedules, escalating issues as necessary. Additionally, you will manage all contract administration tasks, including variations, claims, and technical queries, in collaboration with the Commercial Manager. You will oversee the Tier 1 supply chain, ensuring compliance with Nuclear Safety standards, and address any issues or non-conformances during fabrication and installation to maintain both quality and schedule. Furthermore, you will manage contract changes, including scope definition, business justification, and the implementation of changes in line with governance procedures. Who you are… We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager with proven experience in delivering projects within complex and dynamic environments, particularly in sectors with stringent safety, security, and environmental standards. Experience in the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated industries is highly desirable. You will have a strong background in project management, financial oversight, change management, and facilitation, along with excellent numerical and analytical abilities. Expertise in managing commercial claims and conducting negotiations is also essential for this role. You will possess excellent presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills, with a strong ability to communicate and organise effectively to build and maintain key relationships and networks. A degree in engineering or a related field, with a preference for mechanical engineering, is required. Additionally, experience in the installation of piping systems with onsite construction experience is highly sort after, ensuring the success of this role.
