R&D Manager – Norwich, Norfolk – £45-£70k plus package
This role will be the lead my client’s R&D team of. 7 employees covering Electronic Engineering, Firmware design, CAD engineering, and software. As such we require an experienced engineer capable of running simultaneous projects and coordinating cross-discipline collaboration.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established yet growing company with excellent prospects both during and after the pandemic. The role will form part of the management team making strategy decisions.
The right candidate will have a range of the following skills and qualifications:
General:
Strong communication and project management skills
The ability to compile technical proposals, requirements and specification documentation
Working with internal and external stakeholders to compile and revise requirements for products.
Provide team leadership and mentorship, advice and guidance to the R+D department in the timely delivery of projects
Competency in Microsoft Office and Teams
Experience:
Significant hands on design experience plus a minimum of 5-10 years substantial digital electronics embedded design & development experience.
We would also consider someone with less experience but a dynamic attitude to work
Technical experience:
Design and develop software for analogue & digital circuits using embedded programming skills such as C/C++, and FPGA experience.
PCB & Hardware design skills:
Excellent digital design skills, both in simulation, prototype and practical implementation,
Analogue and Digital circuit design.
PCB layout/schematic capture skills and experience of working with CAD.
Excellent digital hardware knowledge – FPGAs/CPLDs, 8-32 bit Microcontrollers (e.g. ARM & PIC, DSP Processors)
Fault finding to component level on analogue, digital and embedded electronic board layouts
EMC design and testing experience
