We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedMaternity Matronto lead and manage theAntenatal Clinic, Community Midwifery, and Caseload Midwifery teams. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring high standards of care, service improvement, and strategic development in line with NHS maternity transformation initiatives, includingBetter Birthsand theNHS Long-Term Plan.
The post holder will provide strong operational and professional leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality, and compassionate maternity care. They will drive innovation, workforce development, and collaborative working across the hospital and community settings, supporting continuity of care models and reducing health inequalities.

· Provide strategic and operational leadership for theAntenatal Clinic, Community Midwifery, and Caseload Midwifery teams, ensuring excellence in patient care.
· Act as a visible, accessible, and supportive leader, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and professional development.
· Lead on workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and professional development to build a resilient, skilled maternity workforce.
· Support the implementation and sustainability ofcontinuity of carer models, ensuring equity and improved outcomes for women and birthing people.
· Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring efficient service delivery and cost-effectiveness.

• To have overall operational responsibility for a defined clinical area
• To directly-line manage the midwifery staff of the defined clinical area
• On a daily basis ensure that the clinical area is being co-ordinated effectively and be highly visible within the defined clinical area for staff, patients and visitors alike
• Liaise with the wider Trust network and ensure integration of the real time patient feedback system within the defined area of responsibility.
• To act in the absence of the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery
• Responsible for effective communication systems within the defined clinical area and ensure effective and efficient team working within the multi-disciplinary framework.
• To manage resources effectively and efficiently within the agreed budget allocation.
