Our client is a well-established yet still rapidly expanding business operating within the Manufacturing / Import / Distribution industry, naming many household retail names such as Tesco, Asda, and Primark as customers.
As a result of the above, FRS have been engaged to assist with the recruitment of a Group Finance Manager to join the business, ideally situated in Leicestershire. Reporting into the Group FC, you will form part of a finance team of around 10-15 staff assisting with:
1. Manage and develop finance team to support business growth.
2. Monthly management accounts – finished to the required standard and timetable for GFC review.
3. Work with GFC to improve board pack reporting. Ensure weekly/monthly financial information packs and commentary meet Board, investor, and lender reporting requirements.
4. Review stock, royalty provisions, and accruals on a monthly basis.
5. Weekly meetings with the team to review bad debts and both AP and AR ledger.
6. Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and being adhered to across the department and business.
7. Ensure the integrity of balance sheet reporting, review and approve.
8. Ensure VAT returns and HMRC payroll submissions are accurate and meet deadlines.
9. Oversee the timely completion of year-end statutory accounts and all associated analysis as required.
10. Lead the preparation of mapping, year-end disclosures, and tax packs in readiness for year-end audit.
11. Liaise with auditors on completion/sign off and audit letter.
12. Provide financial insight to support business decisions, in particular product and customer profitability and detailed sales/margin/inventory analysis.
13. Contribute to systems and workflow improvements.
The ideal candidate for this position will be formally qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA and have a strong technical bias, with a preference for candidates who have previously worked within Practice.
Candidates will ideally have at least 3 years PQE with experience gained in a Manufacturing / FMCG / Retail background.

1. Demonstrable experience producing financial reporting in medium-sized businesses.
2. Previously operating in a finance leadership capacity leading and developing a team.
3. Strong people skills, good motivator.
4. Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
