As a forward-thinking and dynamic healthcare provider dedicated to offering the highest standards of care to our patients, service users, and the local community, we are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join us as the Divisional Director of Nursing (DivDoN), with a focus on Infection Prevention and Control (Dep DIPC). This pivotal role will support the Trust in delivering great patient care and maintaining our position at the forefront of healthcare excellence.
As the DivDoN, you will be responsible for leading and managing the operational nursing function across the division, ensuring that the highest professional standards are maintained at all times. You will work closely with other Divisional Directors, senior managers, and clinical staff to ensure patient safety, service efficiency, and the continual development of nursing practices.
As the Dep DIPC, you will be responsible for leading and implementing the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) strategy across the Trust. You will provide expert advice and support to staff, ensuring the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and the promotion of best practices in infection control.
Main Duties of the Job
Reporting to the Divisional Director of Operations, the post holder will be an integral member of the Divisional Senior Management Team, responsible for the delivery of the Division's nursing strategy in conjunction with the Trust's overall strategy.
The DivDoN will work with the other Divisional Directors to drive operational performance & planning within the Division. The post holder will work closely with other Divisions, Executive / Corporate Directors & external partners in order to achieve Trust objectives & make a positive contribution to the provision of health services across the local economy.
Working closely with others, the DivDoN is responsible & accountable for providing comprehensive & robust professional leadership, guidance, advice, support & direction to the nursing & allied health professions across the Division in order to ensure that patients are managed & cared for efficiently & effectively.
The DivDoN will provide a highly visible, accessible & authoritative presence in order to support the delivery of the Trust's overall objectives & service priorities.

Job Responsibilities
The DivDoN is expected to lead and manage the operational nursing function of the Division to the highest professional standards.
* The DivDoN will ensure that self and others work in the best interest of patients, carers, families and the wider organisation and practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Councils The Code Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates 2018 (or any successor arrangements).
* Work in accordance with the strategic direction, objectives and policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines of the Trust.
* As an ambassador of the Trust, ensure that self and others represent and practice to the highest professional standards at all times.
* Take every reasonable step to maintain and develop own knowledge, skills and competence and make the Deputy Chief Nurse aware of any professional limitations or concerns.
* As a DivDoN provide active and transformational leadership and deliver personal, service and corporate objectives.
* Support the profession of nursing to ensure that staff work to the full requirements and potential of their roles and grades and develop accordingly.
* Work closely with other DivDoNs and Divisional teams to ensure that nursing resources are utilised efficiently and effectively in order to meet both clinical and non-clinical priorities.
* Work to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, service users and colleagues, taking any necessary corrective action as appropriate to prevent any deterioration in service standards, or to the safety and welfare of patients and staff.
* Develop positive working relationships with other clinicians and managers to ensure that the organisation is at the forefront of best professional practice and service delivery.
* Support the delivery of the Nursing and Quality Strategy for the Division and any other appropriate care standards audits or successor arrangements, including participation in Care Quality Commission assessments and reviews.
* Work with the other Divisional nursing teams to improve the ways information is sourced and used to evidence and improve care delivery and outcomes.
* Be a resource for all staff on professional and operational matters.
* Be actively involved with service lines to ensure that the needs of patients and service users are met reasonably and their views and opinions are sought and used appropriately, particularly to inform improvements in practice and care.

* First level degree or equivalent experience
* Masters degree in relevant discipline

* Broad clinical and leadership/management experience relevant to post
* Recent and substantial experience in senior nursing/midwifery post(s) at a minimum of divisional business unit or equivalent level
* Experience of leading and implementing change
* Experience of embedding robust clinical and corporate systems at local level, specifically relevant to the nursing/midwifery
* Evidence of robust financial and other resource management
