The Day Opportunities team supports older people and adults living with physical impairments to connect with their local community where they may have become socially isolated.
About the job
The team will use motivational interviewing skills to work with older people and adults with physical impairments who have become socially isolated, helping to find long-term sustainable solutions to the barriers preventing them from accessing the community, introducing them to new groups, helping with transport issues, and giving advice on negotiating their locality when living with physical impairments.
For those clients unable to leave the home, the team can support with digital connectivity, helping to achieve digital inclusion by demonstrating how to use equipment and gain basic skills to connect to online groups. You will have your own caseload, have responsibility to assess, support, research venues, and enable people to achieve agreed outcomes in engaging with their community.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are seeking an innovative, resourceful person who can use their initiative and has good interpersonal skills to join our team.
You will need to demonstrate an ability to respond sensitively to individual’s physical and personal care needs as well as having a positive can-do attitude with strong communication skills.
You will need a full valid driving licence and have daily use of a car for business use.
