Role Description
The role of the Global Program Lead is critical to the success of the FPC Digital Building Services business line, providing program leadership to support the delivery of technical related consultancy and systems engineering in the field of Digital Buildings, applications, process, standards for FPC and our clients.
The Program Lead represents FPC in delivering services to our clients and when working with industry partners and suppliers, so will maintain the highest standards of technical and professional performance, and conduct themself with honesty and integrity at all times.
In addition to being a client-facing role and key responsibilities, the Lead Consultant is expected to be an active member of the Program Management team, to make a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully deliver projects and support FPC’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Program and Project Management: You will be responsible for managing the delivery of programs and projects in accordance with the Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW), and/or Engagement Letter, together with any other relevant client-side documents from start to finish, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. This will include but not limited to the following to ensure the project runs smoothly:
o coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors,
o utilise appropriate project delivery methods to ensure timely delivery,
o preparing clear & concise reports for the client,
o managing risks & issues, mitigation of them and offering solutions,
o ensure the change management process is followed and the client is kept informed,
o looking after the clients best interests,
o undertaking lessons learnt, implementing changes to processes, documentation and communicating across all parties/entities.
* Team Management: You will lead a team of Digital Building consultants and Technical project managers, ensuring that they are working effectively and efficiently. You will be responsible for providing guidance and mentoring to team members, as well as facilitating teamwork and collaboration.
* Client Management: You will:
o Work closely with clients to understand requirements and provide solutions that meet them.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that they receive exceptional service and that their expectations are exceeded.
o Represent FPC in a professional manner internally and externally, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction for all work performed.
* Services and Solutions Delivery: You will be responsible for overseeing the team providing consultancy services related to Digital Building Solutions, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), Building Automation Systems (BAS), Sustainability, Building Operational Performance Evaluation / Optimisation and Smart Building Solutions, etc. You will support the team to provide expertise on one or more of these topics, ensuring that clients receive the best advice and solutions from you and the FPC team you lead.
* Commercial Management: You will be responsible for;
o managing the project or program budget,
o raising invoices through the FPC Ops team,
o ensuring delivery within the agreed scope of works and costs as well as looking at how to reduce costs and provide value add solutions to the client.
o You will work closely with the FPC leadership team to develop proposals for future related work and to promote FPC.
* Industry Expertise:
o Support the team in providing strategic technical and industry expertise to develop the Digital Building Services business line.
o Maintain expertise, knowledge and understanding of industry trends, developments and initiatives
* FPC Responsibilities:
o Identify, develop, deliver and support opportunities for continuous improvement for FPC.
o Act in accordance with all FPC employment policies and procedures, including FPC Employee Handbook, Health & Safety and Time & Expenses Reporting
o Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by FPC Management
Qualifications
The program Lead should possess experience and
qualifications
in the following:
* Minimum 5 years leading complex global programs
* Proven track record in Digital Buildings / IoT related roles e.g. Consultant, Designer, Project Manager or Engineer,
* Strong project management skills with experience managing complex projects from start to finish,
* PMI and/or APM accreditation,
* Excellent team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of consultants, engineers, and project managers,
* Strong client management skills, with experience building and maintaining strong client relationships,
* Project proposal development, estimating and presentation,
* Strong business development skills, with experience identifying new business opportunities and building relationships with potential clients,
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner,
* A strong knowledge of Digital Buildings Systems Integration design, development and implementation,
* Experience as working as part of a Team to develop coordinated designs, including:
o Client requirements gathering and documentation,
o Technical Submittal Creation / Review,
o SoW and Specification Development,
* Competent using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software applications
In addition to the above, it is desirable if the Lead Consultant (Digital Buildings) has experience or
qualifications
in the design, delivery and operation of Digital Buildings / IoT related systems:
* Use of Cloud Platforms (Google, Microsoft, Amazon) and Data Analytics
* AutoCAD / BIM / Visio
* RIBA Stages of Work or international equivalents
* Construction Projects and Contracting
* Systems Testing & Commissioning, FDD and Automated Commissioning Systems
Additional Information
Location / Region
This position is based out of our London office.
The role requires working either at client premises, from home or at FPC premises. It may also require some domestic or international travel and working across time zones where necessary for project delivery.
Key Performance Indicators
KPI’s will require to be discussed and developed in more detail with you and your Line Manager so they can be measured. In principle, KPI’s will be broken down into key areas such as project delivery performance, personal development, teamwork, and client relationships/satisfaction.
