Description Corporate Associate – 2- 5 years PQE - Birmingham Brief We are currently looking to recruit a talented corporate lawyer to join the Birmingham Corporate team, ideally a candidate with 2-5 years PQE experience in general M&A and company reorganisations. Sector experience and/or experience in private equity investments, cross border working or equity capital markets deals is helpful but not essential. The Team The Birmingham corporate team has a number of award winning and highly ranked senior partners who have a national profile in their specialist markets of healthcare, energy, industrials and technology. Nicole Livesey heads the team and is also a senior leader for the firm in the technology science and industrials sector. Andrew Hornigold has a fantastic reputation in the field of tech M&A and investment and works mostly on cross border transactions, often with US clients. Joanne Ellis leads the firm’s global healthcare sector and is also the strategy lead for the firm’s response to the US market. Both John Tyerman and Rhian Critchell are part of a hugely successful international energy M&A practice. Clare Francis, Danielle Clifford and Laura Ayre lead the strong commercial offering that works closely with the Birmingham corporate team, primarily focusing on complex AI, real estate and tech matters. The team also benefits from having Ed Stead, the national head of corporate and head of the private equity team, living locally who is often based in the Birmingham office. Exposure to the decision makers in the firm and high-profile deals is a given in the Birmingham team. The Candidate Required The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in a City firm or a large regional practice but will want a new challenge in a firm which places value on collaboration and team work, supporting individual career aspirations in an agile and merit-driven environment, and places huge emphasis on delivering creative solutions to clients (working closely with the Vario business) to become their long term trusted advisors Candidates are assumed to be technically excellent (hands on training is a given) but equally important, commercially aware, keen to learn and enthusiastic about business development.
