Senior Support Worker - Warwickshire Location: Warwickshire, UK Salary: £30,000 (£65 per sleep) (additional 3k per year) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: Our client is a purpose-designed Therapeutic Community located in the heart of rural Warwickshire, providing homes for up to 24 children who have experienced early disruption to their development. They are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join their team and make a real difference in the lives of the children in their care. In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering person-centred care while leading and mentoring a team of support workers. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a nurturing and therapeutic environment, working closely with children who require a stable, supportive, and secure home to heal and develop. The setting is made up of four large detached 6-bed residential care homes, featuring communal gardens, sports, therapy, and amenity spaces that help create a holistic environment for growth and recovery. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of support workers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of care. Deliver therapeutic, person-centred care, supporting children with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges. Create and review care plans, regularly assessing and adapting them to meet individual needs and goals. Foster a nurturing, safe, and positive environment where children feel heard, valued, and respected. Promote independence and life skills, supporting children to engage in daily activities and community-based opportunities. Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals, including therapists and social workers, to ensure integrated care. Oversee daily operations, including record-keeping, report writing, and safeguarding responsibilities. Be a positive role model, guiding the team and ensuring high levels of staff engagement and morale. Essential Criteria: Experience in a Support Worker or Leadership role, ideally within residential care, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Passion for working with vulnerable children and young people, especially those with complex emotional and developmental needs. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a team and make informed decisions. A clear understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation. Empathy, patience, and the ability to foster trust with children and team members. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Desirable Criteria: Experience working in a Therapeutic Community or similar setting. Knowledge and experience in therapeutic approaches to care. Additional qualifications in Child Care, Mental Health, or other relevant areas. What We Offer: Competitive salary based on experience.
