We are looking for an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant who is calm, confident and has the skills to be able to support classroom activities safely and create a positive learning environment.
The role of EAL Teaching Assistant is crucial in promoting the learning and personal development of pupils whose first language is not English.
To succeed in this role, you will:
* Support students assessed as having EAL by using appropriate support programmes and strategies
* Offer pastoral support with particular emphasis on new arrivals and those with the lowest levels of English
* Motivate and encourage students by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks
* Develop a bank of resources to support students with EAL
* Contribute to the assessment of students with EAL
