SUPERVISOR: Hope Refugee Drop In Center Manager HOURS: 8:30-5 M-F flexible
CLASSIFICATION: Full time/ Hourly/ Non-Exempt TRAVEL / LOCATION: 248 West Ferry
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Knowledge of culture and experience in providing trauma informed care or willingness to learn
* Spanish and English language proficiency required
* Prior experience as a caseworker for public or nonprofit employer
* Prior experience implementing social programs
JOB SUMMARY: Provide case management to diverse communities. Respond to client identified needs by providing case management services to post re-settlement or secondary migration refugee community members in Buffalo. Advocate for clients and assist them with access to community service organizations. Promote self-sufficiency in meeting short and long term needs and goals.
CASE MANAGEMENT:
* Provide client driven flexible support to program participants
* Provide information, translation, advice, referrals, and advocacy services in the client’s native language
* Maintain thorough case notes regarding client interactions and issues
* Advocate for clients while speaking with other agencies, organizations, caseworkers
* Provide transportation to clients for appointments
* Report on progress of client issues to Supervisor via informal briefings, case conferences and team meetings as required
* Make suggestions in the development of responsive, innovative and flexible strategies that aim to provide appropriate and sustainable outcomes for clients
* Maintain and develop relationships with other relevant agencies for clients
* A driver’s license OR ability to travel to multiple locations is a must
* Perform other duties consistent with client advocacy as assigned by Supervisor
* Participate in all required staff meetings and trainings
ADMINISTRATION:
* Attend training or conferences to remain current with trends and best practices in service delivery.
* Respond to and follow through on other projects and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Program Operations
* Ability to research and address the social determinants of health and how financial stressors affect individuals
