Speech & Language Therapist required.
Are you a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) seeking to work in an expanding, highly motivated and friendly Speech and Language Therapy team?
We have created a new and exciting post for someone wanting to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of people with communication difficulties, some of whom may have swallowing difficulties.
The role involves working within an inpatient mental health hospital for men and women with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. You will help to support our clients to develop their functional communication skills through a number of approaches to help our client's progress towards their discharge and enabling them to live a happier and fulfilling life within the community.
Person-centred planning is at the heart of everything we do, based on the specific needs of the individuals in our care.
This role comes with the opportunity to develop your management skills through the line management of the SLT Assistant and by leading on site communication projects across site. Necessary training and support will be provided.

We are looking for:
1. Someone who wants to develop or extend their clinical expertise with this client group
2. Someone keen to engage with the wider Speech and Language Therapy networks
3. Motivated to collaboratively participate in quarterly Speech and Language Therapy meetings
4. Able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
5. Able to work closely alongside The Lead Speech and Language Therapist and provide support to the Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SLTA).
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
1. HCPC approved Degree/ Masters (or equivalent) In Speech and Language Therapy
2. To be registered with HCPC and RCSLT
3. Experience in working with a client population who present with a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) /Learning Disability, along with complex needs and challenging behaviour
4. Experience in or an interest in Dysphagia management
5. The ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
6. Excellent communication / time management skills
