Recycling Plant Process Operator
Responsibilities:
* Operate and monitor recycling equipment, including conveyors, shredders, separators, and sorting machines.
* Efficiently sort and separate recyclable materials, such as plastics, metal, paper, and glass, following established procedures and quality standards.
* Conduct quality checks and inspections to remove contaminants and ensure the purity of recycled materials.
* Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal productivity.
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to report and troubleshoot any mechanical or technical issues.
* Monitor recycling processes to minimise waste, increase efficiency, and improve throughput.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work area.
* Keep accurate records of production activities, including weights, quantities, and material types processed.
* Continuously identify opportunities for process optimisation and contribute ideas for improving recycling operations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Process Operator in a recycling plant or similar environment.
* Knowledge of recycling processes, equipment, and machinery.
* Familiarity with different types of recyclable materials and their sorting requirements.
* Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and remove contaminants from recyclable materials.
* Basic mechanical aptitude to perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions.
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
