I'm partnered with an established groundworks contractor who are recruiting for a Technical Manager. The contractor delivers civil engineering, groundworks, and infrastructure services to new build projects with top 10 house builders across the West Midlands Region.
As Technical Manager, you will support the construction, commercial & H&S teams through the management and communication of all technical aspects relating to the construction works undertaken by the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for Site Engineers, including monthly site visits across all regions.
* Ensure engineers are completing relevant Q/A checks & recording As Built Information in line with agreed engineering requirements.
* Arrange quarterly engineering meetings, providing meeting agenda.
* Manage engineering workload, ensuring job allocation across each individual region is split accordingly.
* Oversee engineering kit management - renewal, calibration, hiring, and invoices.
* Manage S38 / S104 adoption processes.
Skills Required:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (not essential).
* Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Senior Site Engineer, or Technical Manager.
* Experience with roads & sewers, residential groundworks.
* Ability to take off and schedule materials.
* Good communication and management skills.
* Ability to organize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to business needs.
* Team player.
