EC&I Maintenance Engineer – Robotic Systems

The Asset Management function within Altrad Babcock is a highly specialised engineering services and equipment provider supporting customers to minimise cost, maximise return and mitigate risk through their asset integrity lifecycle. We are recruiting exceptional candidates to join our mission in becoming a fully certified Asset Management engineering services provider of both consultancy and integrated projects, across future global low carbon energy and infrastructure markets.
The Asset Management business provides a broad range of services primarily in power generation industries including thermal, nuclear and renewables, together with process, oil & gas, petrochemical and the newly emerging fusion energy research sectors. Within this function we have an opportunity for a Engineer to join us in Renfrew.
As a EC&I Maintenance Engineer, we are looking for an individual with electrical and mechanical expertise, specialising in robotic systems, to contribute to the management and maintenance of Automated Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment. The position is based at our Renfrew facility, located near Glasgow.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
Electrical and Mechanical Expertise:
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, particularly those related to mechanical manipulators and motor controllers.
* Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components.
Robotics and Automation Knowledge:
* Experience working with robotic systems, particularly manipulators used in industrial settings.
* Familiarity with the integration of software programs that control robotic systems.
Technical Aptitude:
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals related to the manipulators and associated systems.
* Capable of diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.
Safety Awareness:
* Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Leadership Skills:
* Adept in effective leadership and guiding teams supporting the maintenance of equipment.
Communication Skills:
* Effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members, provide clear instructions, and document maintenance activities via our Computerised Maintenance Management System.
* Proficient in customer interactions and reporting, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with clients.
Problem-Solving Skills:
* Proven ability to analyse problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Adaptability:
* Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field of robotic systems and maintenance.
