Time 4 Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Contract Quantity Surveyor to work for a successful and growing design and build contractor in Cardiff. My client specialises in new build residential, renovations and housing association projects across South Wales.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in the Cardiff Office and work on their housing projects, including social housing across the South Wales region. You will be working on projects on various sites, each with their own challenges and often incorporating difficult builds, listed buildings, problems with the land being built on, and Council Planning.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in Quantity Surveying with specific experience dealing with Housing Associations. It is vital to be good with people to build strong relationships with clients.
As an experienced Quantity Surveyor, you will have worked in a similar role, costing multi-site environments, led by large teams of trade people, and produced high-quality residential or social housing schemes.
Requirements for this role:
* Quantity Surveying responsibilities on multiple new build residential timber frame sites throughout the UK.
* Knowledgeable with JCT & NEC contracts.
* Must be able to prepare and submit monthly valuations.
* Will be required to read and understand contractual documents.
* Required to price and submit variations to sub-contractors by liaising with estimating, design, and site teams, and then liaise with the main contractor to agree on variations.
* Attend design meetings with clients and the design team to provide commercial support to designers.
* Will be based at the head office in Cardiff Bay but may on occasion be required to travel to a different site in the UK.
Experience:
* Previous experience of working on social housing projects is essential.
* Surveying: 5 years minimum.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Excellent IT skills.
Benefits of the role:
As a Contract Quantity Surveyor, you will be rewarded with a salary of £335 to £365 per day.
This is a contract role to start ASAP for the very long term, with the possibility of going permanent for the right candidate.
Your time will be split between the Cardiff office and on-site as required. The main location of this role will be at the head office in Cardiff Bay.
