Lead Orthodontic Assistant - Orthodontic Boutique of Connecticut
Orthodontic Boutique of Connecticut is looking to add a Lead Orthodontic Assistant to their growing Darien, CT team! The Lead Orthodontic Assistant provides functional supervision for orthodontic assistants and works as an orthodontic assistant. Responsibilities include operations support, monitoring ortho assistants’ productivity, supporting maintenance of clinical equipment, clinical support staff assignments, and ensuring compliance with CDC, OSHA, HIPAA, Risk Management, and safety regulations. Travel may be required for training and coverage as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Monitor and prioritize workflow of orthodontic assistants.
* Assist orthodontist during orthodontic treatment procedures.
* Manage escalated patient issues.
* Maintain compliance with CDC, OSHA, Risk Management, and safety regulations and guidelines, as well as HIPAA privacy regulations.
* Assume responsibility for the cleanliness of the clinical area and the dental equipment and instruments, including sterilizing and polishing dental instruments; oiling and cleaning equipment; and general cleaning of the orthodontic clinic.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* 3+ years of Dental/Orthodontic Experience; orthodontic experience preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
* 3+ years of knowledge of orthodontic terminology.
* Customer service orientation and attention to detail.
* Ability to use tact and sensitivity in personal transactions.
* Strong working knowledge of computer applications: word processing, patient management system, and spreadsheets.
* Ability to interpret and comply with applicable regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA, CDC, and OSHA.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED.
This is a full-time position, requiring 4 days a week, up to 40 hours.
