We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader Endoscopy who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Endoscopy unit is located at the Lister hospital, running four procedure rooms, and a further two procedure rooms at the New QE2 site.
We offer an Endoscopy service seven days a week, and an emergency on-call service 24/7, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
You will provide efficient, safe and effective service for all patients and carers attending the endoscopy unit.

Main duties of the job
Act as a leader of the nursing team in providing a high standard of evidence based care.
Conduct Appraisals, Return to Work / Sickness interviews and Management referrals in a timely manner. Monitor and manage staff absence.
Support the endoscopy NTMs, deputise for them in their absence
Establish and maintain good effective communication. Links with the multidisciplinary team, specialist nurse, office staff and wards.
Actively be involved in Retention and Recruitment of staff to support the service.
Complete weekly allocations maintaining safe staffing levels, and create opportunities for staff to complete their competencies

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
* Registered Nursing qualification on the NMC register
* Nursing degree qualification/ Apprenticeship or equivalent.
* GCSE Grade A-C in Math’s & English or skills level 2 math’s & English or equivalent
* Commitment to lifelong learning.
* Ability to produce a personal professional portfolio.
* Mentorship/preceptorship training
* IT skills
Desirable criteria
* Recognized management training/course
Previous Experience

* Post registration experience
* Manage day to day running of the unit/ward
* Evidence of developing one’s own specialist, clinical Role within endoscopy.
* Fully compliant with all Endoscopy JETS competencies

* Responsibility for management and co-ordination of staff appraisals
* Budget management stock control awareness.

* Experience in dealing with complaints and incident reporting
* Able to facilitate change.
* Working knowledge of managing Decontamination processes
* Knowledge of standard setting and Audit.
* Knowledge of National Bowel cancer screening program.
