Project Manager - Renewables - £70-80k - Scotland - Hybrid
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to support their business by leading, overseeing, and delivering a range of exciting projects at various stages of development. The role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of multiple end-to-end projects.
The Project Manager will report directly to the Lead Project Manager and will be responsible for (but not limited to):
* Independently managing green hydrogen production and utilization projects.
* Driving the development of projects within the core business, working closely with public and private stakeholders, OEMs, regulators, and other relevant parties.
* Coordinating and overseeing internal and external resources to advance projects through all stages of the lifecycle, from concept development and planning to permitting, final investment decisions, construction, and commissioning.
* Implementing our client’s Project Management Methodology (based on industry best practices) to effectively control schedule, cost, and quality-related risks.
* Ensuring timely completion of project deliverables and ensuring they are shared with all necessary stakeholders.
* Providing regular updates on project progress both internally and to clients.
* Assisting with the development of grant applications and public sector engagements tied to financial support mechanisms.
* Maintaining a strong understanding of hydrogen projects and use cases in the UK and internationally.

The ideal candidate should have:
* Several years of experience in project management, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies such as APM.
* Experience in delivering complex projects in sectors such as energy, construction, or related industries.
* Knowledge of the renewable energy sector, particularly in wind, solar, hydrogen, and/or fuel cell technologies, is advantageous.
* Proven experience managing projects throughout the entire development cycle, including construction and commissioning.
* Ability to review technical scopes and deliverables and provide constructive feedback to the client’s team and external partners.
* Construction project execution experience would be an advantage.
* Experience overseeing projects from initial concept development through execution and final handover to operations is a plus.
* Strong commercial negotiation skills and contractor management experience, with familiarity in FIDIC/NEC/IChemE contracts being valuable.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience in risk management, issue resolution, and corporate dispute management is advantageous.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and Word.
* Expertise in Microsoft Project is essential.
Qualifications:
* A strong academic background is required, with preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Energy, Engineering, Sustainability, or any other related fields.
