Job overview
To provide an accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and appropriate support to families and carers. The post holder will support the delivery of a comprehensive high-quality medical secretarial administrative service.
To support the coordination of the administration arrangements to provide a high-quality supportive secretarial service to the consultant, medical and nursing team. To work independently and be accountable for organizing/prioritizing own workload to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for the post of Medical Secretary. The post holder will provide an efficient administration service to support the North Wales Cardiac Centre within Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and the wider secretarial team as required.
It is essential that the applicant holds the relevant qualifications as per the person specification, with previous medical secretarial experience desirable. A high level of audio typing skills, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, and a good telephone manner are required. Experience of working in a busy office environment is also desirable.
The successful candidate will join and contribute to a dynamic and busy Medical Team, working closely with Consultants and their juniors as well as liaising closely with other members of the team supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Candidates must maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent experience
* RSA/OCR level 2 or equivalent experience (must be a proficient user of Microsoft Word)
* AMSPAR – City & Guilds L3.
