Job Overview Our ICP client is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer who is keen to become immersed in a variety of exciting electrical infrastructure and grid connection projects, ranging from steady-state studies to dynamic analyses, all aimed at ensuring optimal performance and reliability. From conducting load flow assessments to evaluating fault levels and beyond, you’ll play a pivotal role in cutting-edge power systems engineering. Your typical week will involve a diverse range of consulting tasks, where you’ll leverage both technical prowess and project management leadership to ensure seamless execution. You’ll cultivate strong client relationships, positioning our power systems services for future success, and spearhead the development and delivery of compelling project proposals. Package Salary - Up to 80k Working conditions - Minimum 1 day per week in the office/remainder from home Benefits - Private medical insurance, Life assurance (4x salary), 8% matched pension, 25 days holiday bank holidays, 38hrs working week, 10% annual bonus Selected Key Duties Performing steady-state studies such as load flow, fault level, and reactive compensation assessments. Conducting dynamic studies, including frequency and voltage stability within the G99 standard. Analysing P28 Transformer Energisation and Flicker. Carrying out harmonic G5 analysis, power quality assessments, and filter design. Undertaking transient over-voltage and insulation coordination simulation studies. Leading control interaction studies and earthing assessments. Overseeing protection coordination and Arc Flash studies. Providing grid connection support to onshore and offshore developers. Designing and programming solution components, with a focus on harmonic filters and reactive compensation. Have a sound technical knowledge of multi-utility network components, network operation, operational policy, design standards and specifications Provide Technical support to all company Departments and Clients Review and sign-off the Power System Studies reports Experience/Skills Required Proven track record in power systems engineering in the UK Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent Minimum of 2 years experience in UK Grid Code Compliance Studies Understand the nuances of power systems analysis and are proficient in industry standard software such as: DigSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA and CDEGSs
