Job Description
New Directions Education are recruiting for a confident Secondary Teacher to provide cover within Secondary schools in the Cardigan area. We have opportunities for daily cover as well as long term placements and this role would suit both NQTs and experienced teachers.
We care about our candidates and offer a variety of Professional Development learning opportunities and host multiple webinars/seminars during the half term breaks. These include British Sign Language, Assessment for Learning, Mindfulness and Wellbeing plus many more.
The work available is flexible and you are able to state your preferred days of work, the areas that you can travel to and the key stages that you prefer to work in. We have day to day and long term placements available.

As a secondary teacher you’ll be expected to:
1. Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
2. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
3. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
4. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
5. Maintain discipline
6. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
7. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
8. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
9. Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
10. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
