We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to work in Stanhoe ward as a Healthcare Assistant. Stanhoe Ward is a 32 bedded acute medical ward that specialises in caring for patients acutely unwell or with different infection diseases Successful candidates will attend the Healthcare Assistant GROW Programme for full training. This includes mandatory training (the training that all clinical staff at the hospital complete), you will be taught the fundamental skills you need to perform your role and attend the Caring with Kindness programme (essential learning from patient experience). The course is very practical – you will have plenty of time to practice new skills before you start your new role.

• Work cooperatively as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting colleagues in work associated with patient care.
• Understand own level of responsibility and accountability in relation to registered staff.
• Communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their family, visitors and carers.
• Through practice demonstrate an understanding of Duty of Care and how this contributes to safe practices.
• Assist and as required provide patients with personal care
• Following appropriate training and supervised practice, undertake identified competency based practices which are required for the ward / unit, after such tasks have been delegated to them by a registered nurse.
• Identify learning and development needs and produce a personal development plans in conjunction with your line manager / supervisor
