Job Overview
Lower Reule Farm is based at a rural location between Newport and Stafford. We produce strawberries and raspberries for the UK supermarkets, wholesale markets and have a growing export business.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our financial, HR and administrative office. This pivotal role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of financial services, financial accounting, and financial management. Working within the senior management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organisation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic guidance to support our business objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the finance department, providing leadership and direction to ensure effective financial operations.
2. Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organisation’s goals.
3. Oversee financial accounting processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
4. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
5. Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Collaborate with all areas of the business to aid the smooth running of the company and drive performance.
7. Prepare detailed reports for senior management regarding financial performance.
8. Lead audits (financial and ethical) and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
9. Foster an organisational culture that promotes ethical behaviour and accountability in all financial and business practices.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience in a senior finance role.
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
3. Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
4. Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex financial information.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial concepts clearly.
7. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred but not essential.
