Project Support Officer (Digital Exclusion) Cheshire East is looking to appoint an individual to help coordinate and support digital inclusion activity for Connecting Cheshire Partnership, working closely with partner organisations and third-party suppliers to provide assistance and intelligence in relation to digital inclusion and the organisations operating in the region that provide varied forms of support. The postholder will also help coordinate a small community focused project to enable more residents to access and gain greater knowledge on how to use digital devices and online platforms, with a core focus on reducing the level of digital exclusion in Cheshire, Halton and Warrington. The postholder will act as a single point of contact with four local authority partners (Connecting Cheshire Partnership) to discuss and collaborate on digital inclusion initiatives, needs, opportunities and any issues. Knowledge of Digital exclusion issues would be advantageous, however it is expected that this would be developed in post. The role will involve active participation in local and regional groups, meetings and events - also developing a large number of one to one relationships with external individuals and organisations involved in addressing digital inclusion, such as charitable organisations and NHS departments etc. As such this role would suit an outgoing individual with excellent organisational and communication skills who is a good self starter and capable of working on their own initiative. The position is fixed for 18 months, if the position delivers positive outcomes and demonstrates value in both co-ordinating and communicating between the large number of stakeholders then the Authority is considering the possibility of a longer term role.
