MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Under the direction of the Director of Network and Telecom, provides third level support to end users.
2. Plans, procures, installs and maintains local and wide area networks in a multi-protocol environment.
3. Reviews products and recommends acquisition or modification of hardware, software or contract services.
4. Monitors network functions and evaluates operations and network performance.
5. Involved in the implementation and maintenance of major subsystems.
6. Acknowledge and resolve user service requests utilizing the service request management system.
7. Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods.
8. Develops resolutions to complex problems that require frequent use of creativity and judgment within defined policies.
9. Contributes to the development of organizational goals and objectives.
10. Represents the organization as the principal customer contact.
11. Often performs project leadership duties.
12. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Management Systems, or equivalent.
2. 7+ years of related work experience including project management.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Public Cloud provider experience specifically AWS and Azure.
2. Azure cloud experience in software-defined networking, VNETs and VNET peering, private and service endpoints, network insights, application gateway and load balancers, Azure NSGs and Firewalls.
3. Experience with automation integration, NetOps integration and associated principles and solutions.
4. Solid understanding of basic IP addressing constructs such as CIDR IP ranges and subnetting.
5. Understanding of basic Layer 2 technologies.
6. Extensive routing protocol configuration experience with designing, configuring and troubleshooting complex BGP configurations in a JunOS environment.
7. Operational experience with OSPF routing on Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks and Dell-OS 10 switching platforms.
8. Administration or setup of Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
9. Comfortable with testing and working in a virtual or physical lab to test all network configurations before deployment.
10. Expected to produce meaningful documentation using tools like Visio.
11. Advanced troubleshooting skills for resolving routing issues.
12. Some experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, Python) is a plus.
13. Knowledge of implementation and troubleshooting of Layer 2-3 switching technologies.
14. Working knowledge of F5 load balancer configuration and management.
15. Experience with the implementation and configuration of Enterprise class firewalls from Palo Alto Technologies.
16. Demonstrate a clear understanding and expertise for deployment of networking technologies in a virtualized environment.
17. Working knowledge and use of network troubleshooting tools.
18. Palo Alto, CISCO CCNP, Checkpoint CCSA.
19. Proven ability to create network designs with associated Bill of Materials and configuration.
20. Development of network product roadmaps and features.
21. Creation of product comparison tables as supporting details for recommendations.
22. Contribute to and define requirements for network projects.
23. Remain in touch with new and current vendor solutions, services and products.
24. Deliver professional services such as network assessment, migration, and troubleshooting.
