Permanent vacancy - 37 hours per week
£21,994 per annum
The Engineering department at Barnsley College consists of three areas, engineering skills, electrical installation, and automotive technologies. The department caters for students with a range of abilities and starting points, from level 2 to level 4, within the age groups of 16 to 18 and adults. The College has just opened a state-of-the-art automotive technologies centre to run alongside the existing engineering department, offering occupational qualifications and training to meet employer and community demands.
We are looking for a Workshop Technician to working alongside teaching staff to enable students to achieve their full potential. Ideally, we are looking for some experience and knowledge in the engineering industry, as this can be used to provide and maintain well equipped safe workshop environments to industry standards.
The Workshop Technician role relies on strong communication and basic IT skills, with the ability to work efficiently with others. The post provides a great opportunity to contribute to the learner journey and support the departments success, as well as providing our new post holder with the opportunity to develop and boost their own continuous professional development.
