Magnolia unit provides short stay Inpatient rehabilitation for adults admitted post Stroke & neurological diagnoses as well as multipathology admissions, having have complex needs that require comprehensive assessment, rehabilitation and effective discharge planning by the multi-disciplinary team which you will be an integral part of. After several years of ever closer working, North Mid and Royal Free London are planning to come together as one organisation to enable them to go further and faster in improving services for patients and the health of the local community than they can achieve separately. The merger of North Mid into the RFL group is currently expected to take place on 1 January 2025, subject to NHS England and Secretary of State approval. Main duties of the job To provide an expert SALT (Speech and Language Therapy) service to adults with a range of neurological conditions including Stroke & multipathology (non - neurological) presentations based within the Magnolia Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. To assess and treat a caseload of patients with a range of Speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs, as an autonomous and independent practitioner for patients who may have acute, chronic and/or complex neurological and / or multipathology (non - neurological) dysfunction and maintain appropriate patientrecordsand statistics. To haveanoverviewoftheinpatientSALTcaseload Toprovideregularsupportandsupervision,i.e.1:1supervisionandjointsessionsforBand 6inpatientSALT & Support them & other junior, assistant, MDT staff band6SLT offering training and education as required.
