About the role
We provide emergency bed accommodation for individuals facing homelessness, many of whom have experienced multiple disadvantages, including rough sleeping, substance misuse, offending history, and poor mental health. Our services operate across multiple sites, offering a safe and supportive environment for those in crisis.
We are looking for a dedicated Cleaner to help maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across our emergency accommodation sites. This role is essential in ensuring our spaces remain safe, welcoming, and dignified for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out general and deep cleaning of communal areas, void rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and offices.
* Complete deep cleans of vacated rooms, ensuring they are ready for new residents.
* Safely clean and dispose of bodily fluids and sharps, following strict health and safety protocols.
* Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues.
* Ensure adherence to infection control procedures and COSHH regulations.
* Work sensitively and respectfully in an environment where residents may be experiencing personal crises.
* Travel between multiple sites using a company vehicle (driving licence essential).

About You
* Previous cleaning experience in a similar setting (homeless services, hostels, hospitals, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
* An understanding of, or lived experience with, issues such as homelessness, substance misuse, or mental health challenges.
* Ability to work in a trauma-informed way, showing empathy and respect for residents.
* Comfortable working in an environment where residents may be in distress or displaying challenging behaviour.
* A proactive and reliable attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team.
* A full, clean UK driving licence (essential) to travel between sites using a company vehicle.
