Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our team in Bedford. The successful candidate will support the finance department with various accounting tasks and ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
Allocating customer payments onto accounts
Reconcile card receipts and terminal
Process invoices, payments, and receipts
Raise sales ledger invoices to customers and provide support when queries arise
Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable, including factoring account
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
Handle queries from suppliers and customers regarding payments and invoices
Perform general administrative duties as required
Qualifications and Skills Needed for the role:
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
A proactive and positive attitude
Ideally hold a AAT Level 3 or similar qualification
