Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Aseptic Pharmacy Technician to join our client's team at a reputable NHS Hospital in Liverpool. We are looking for a dedicated individual with experience in aseptic techniques to support the preparation and dispensing of sterile medicines within the team's hospital pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Aseptic Services: Prepare and dispense sterile products, including chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, and other high-risk medicines in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
2. Quality Control: Ensure all aseptic processes are performed to the highest standards, maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the relevant health and safety regulations.
3. Stock Management: Assist in the management and rotation of stock, ensuring medicines and aseptic supplies are correctly stored, labelled, and accounted for.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services.
5. Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated with industry best practices.
6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all aseptic processes and the dispensing of medicines.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. Aseptic Experience: Proven experience in aseptic preparation and dispensing is essential.
2. Registered Pharmacy Technician: You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
3. Knowledge of Aseptic Techniques: Solid understanding and experience of aseptic techniques, including preparation of injectable medicines and chemotherapy products.
4. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and dispensing medicines.
5. Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
6. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Post-registration experience in Aseptic Services
2. Experience in an NHS Hospital setting
