Job Description Industrialisation lead – Aerospace Procurement (Finished Machining Category) Full Time Derby/Inchinnan (Global role) Hybrid What you will be doing An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Industrialisation lead to join the Rolls-Royce Manufacturing Engineering team in the newly formed “Finished machining” category within the procurement organisation. As an experienced manufacturing engineering with process and commodity knowledge you will look to develop the global standards for FAIR, APQP & PPAP and develop knowledge and skills within the supply chain. In this role, you will be Initially working within the Aerofoil’s commodity with new and existing suppliers to develop the manufacturing process standards along with training and coaching of the supplier and MEP teams. You will be working with the MECL and Project IPT as parts of a major transfer program. After this initial phase of supporting the Aerofoil transfer program it is then envisaged that the individual will take a wider responsibility for the whole finish machining category. In the wider role the responsibilities will be to develop the process standards and governance (FAIR, APQP / PPAP) for the organisation. You will develop and monitor the progress of suppliers RFT capability within the business to ensure the engineering requirements are satisfied for new product introduction, part transfer and on-going manufacture. This is a global role based in Inchinnan or Derby working within Finished machining Team. Responsibilities: In this exciting role, you will be working with the Aerospace Procurement MECL / STAM responsible for the supply chain to ensure that the optimum process standards are in place to support the business, you will also be: Creating Gold standard for APQP / PPAP. PFMEA / Inspection and Control plans. Gold standard technical instructions, formats & content. Management of non-conformance and rework loops. Shop floor compliance checks, peer reviews etc. Creating Gold standards for FAIR submission. Develop phasing submission and monitoring process. Training and development of the FAIR authority. Work with MEPs on relative bench marking on the above standards – identify areas to improve. Training of suppliers on the Gold standard for FAIR, APQP / PPAP. Working across the supply chain with all suppliers and the relevant MEPs to gather data, monitor and improve the aerofoil supply chain RFT Visual and Dimensional capability through PPAC, Net Inspect and KCF data (including rework rates etc). Work with MEPs on relative bench marking on RFT Visual and Dimensional data– identify areas to improve. To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria: An engineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC and previous experience working in a manufacturing engineering role. Aerofoils Commodity experience is preferable. Supply chain experience is preferable ideally with experience of industrialisation. Strong analytical skills and a proven record of using tools and techniques associated with industrialisation APQP / PPAP. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting to varied audiences. You will be an enthusiastic candidate with a flexible attitude to work and a keen interest in learning and sharing knowledge. Good team working skills and ability to influence are essential.
