Aftermarket Service Technician
£35,000 - £39,200 per annum

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8-16.30, Fri 8-15.30
Our client is seeking an experienced Diesel / Hydraulic Service Technician to join their team in Kintore. As a Diesel / Hydraulic Service Technician, you will be responsible for the service, repair, and testing of Truck Mounted and Offshore Containerised Winches, Diesel Driven Power Packs, Compressors, Telescopic and Folding Wireline Masts. This work will be carried out on both client-owned and NOV-owned rental equipment. You will support and improve the assembly of NOV ISE products through specific techniques, innovative idea generation, and creative, efficient problem solving. You will assist your colleagues where required and report any health and safety improvements and infringements, stopping any operations you deem to be unsafe immediately and reporting these to your line manager. You will follow all risk assessments and participate in all safety initiatives. The quality of your work is expected to be to the highest standard, right first time, on time.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
2. Service and repair pneumatic/hydraulic systems as per designs/procedures, ensuring the cleanliness of hydraulic systems is always maintained.
3. Monitor and control materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or faults.
4. Create and complete reports on all equipment.
5. Fault finding and diagnosis of faulty equipment.
6. Local visits to client premises to carry out calibrations and repairs.
7. Support key initiatives such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and cost of quality.
8. Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and tidy work area following 5S and LEAN principles.
9. Support initiatives such as new techniques and products and purchases of new machinery.
10. Generate and implement improvement ideas and encourage idea generation among the team.
11. Action all tasks assigned to maintain high levels of target achievement as designated by Cell Leader.
12. Be prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime, as required to suit the operational demands of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Time served apprenticeship (HGV/Plant Mechanics).
2. NC in a relevant subject.
3. Higher education in a relevant subject (Desirable).
4. Background in a mechanical-based profession.
5. Working knowledge within a service and repair environment.
6. Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
7. Forklift and overhead crane certificates (Desirable).
