Pupil Support Officer - fixed term until 18/12/2026

Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro-rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Monday to Thursday 7:50am-16:05pm & Friday 7:50am – 12:50pm)
Craigroyston Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Pupil Support Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. We welcome applications from experienced candidates who will support our work to ensure learners at Craigroyston Primary develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to demonstrate four key capacities – to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. The candidates will need to demonstrate essential knowledge and skills as below:
* working as part of a team contribute to positive outcomes and build on the strengths of children and families
* experience of working in a school environment and be willing to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service.
* experience of working cooperatively and effectively with a range of contacts, partners and networks.
* building key supportive relationships with children and families
* de-escalating difficulties or behaviour that can be challenging through empathic and sensitive relationship based approaches

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
