Butler Rose Public Practice are excited to be working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Winchester who are looking to hire an experienced tax professional into their team. This is a brand new role which has come about through growth. It will offer varied work managing a portfolio of locally based clients as well as future progression within the team.
Job Summary:
The firm is looking for a personal tax professional who is studying their ATT or who is looking to start their CTA qualification. Various levels of qualification will be considered depending on practical experience.
The role offers an opportunity to work with an incredibly broad range of clients including expats, HNWI, and non-UK residents.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and submission of tax returns for a portfolio of clients, including reviewing tax returns of juniors.
2. Speaking with clients and prospects (over the phone) answering tax queries.
3. Assisting the wider tax team with tax return reviews from outsourcing company.
4. Assisting in preparation of written private client tax advice in report format to clients.
5. Managing client relationships and expectations, which would involve monitoring of IRIS on a weekly basis to ensure a number of issues and deadlines are being met.
6. Assisting with update of our internal CRMs and client portals of new enquiries.
7. Various ad hoc work as and when it arises.
8. Although this role is mainly compliance-based, there is the scope to work within other areas and get more involved in advisory as your role develops.

Person Requirements:
1. Ideally you will be part or fully ATT qualified, but candidates at various stages of tax qualification will be considered as well as people who are looking to start their CTA.
2. At least 3+ years’ experience in a similar private client/personal tax role working for a UK based accountancy practice.
3. Strong technical tax knowledge and practical expertise within the private client tax arena, with demonstrable broad experience of the tax affairs of non-domiciled individuals, entrepreneurs and share schemes for small and medium-sized enterprises.
4. Strong communication skills, be it face-to-face, email or in writing.
