NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a permanent, part-time post of 34 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
The post holder will have the responsibility for:
1. Management of their own community caseload.
2. Management and supervision of the caseloads of trained nursing staff and Support Workers within their designated nursing team.
3. Clinical leadership and management of their designated nursing team.
4. Providing a comprehensive, specialist nursing service for clients with a diagnosis of First Episode Psychosis within the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.
5. Promoting partnership working within the mental health network, both internally and externally.
6. Profession-specific clinical governance activity within the Early Intervention team for First Episode Psychosis, including monitoring of standards of care and service, responding to complaints, staff support, career-long learning, continuous development, supporting practice education for under and post-graduate students, clinical supervision, and implementation of policy and clinical guidelines.
7. Management and provision of an Early Intervention service for First Episode Psychosis that aims to promote a vision of recovery, maximizing levels of engagement, contact with families and carers, minimizing psychotic symptoms, and improving social functioning.
Delivering Early Intervention psychosis interventions is a Scottish Government priority within Mental Health. This post is vital in ensuring that Greater Glasgow and Clyde can deliver on this expectation.
