Job Purpose:
The Apprentice will work closely across Operations in Thame to deliver monthly outputs, product improvements, and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to support successful completion of apprenticeship criteria.

Job Context:
Working as part of the UK Operations team to ensure planning, production, and control (PP&C) customer orders are facilitated and completed to meet monthly targets. Projects will be undertaken against New Product Development (NPD) and in support of successful introduction across UK and global locations. As an Operations Engineering Apprentice, you will engage across all business sectors to ensure challenges are addressed with active end-user support.
Job Dimensions:
This is a role based in Thame with standard hours of 06:00 – 14:30 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 – 11:00 on Fridays. College days are to be scheduled to meet course requirements; these will be coordinated with the Learning Team and course providers.
Key Accountabilities:
* Phased training to achieve successful completion in each Operations product area.
* Work and support closely with the Operations Management team.
* Actively work alongside each Team Leader for progression across each product area.
* Participate and facilitate CI opportunities throughout all business areas.
* Active involvement in NPD projects and undertake associated reports alongside the project team.
* Work with the Production Engineering team to deliver targeted improvement opportunities.
* Review, investigate, and report process improvement activities to achieve defined targets across Cost, Safety, Quality, and on-time delivery, ensuring sustainability can be achieved.
* Conduct Operations Business Operating Systems (BOS) monthly figures alongside the Operations team and support actions through to successful outcomes.
* Attend Quality Review meetings and support improvement activities.
* Active involvement across all Kaizen projects to drive efficiencies and opportunities.
* Work alongside the Quality team to determine supplier-led Non-Conformances, goods in validation, and Post Production Audit (PPA) activities.
* Providing support to other departments or projects as needed.
* Stakeholder towards DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP & PPAP conformance and implementation as project pace dictates.
* Focus on Customer Support Incidents (CSI’s) with Quality team engagement through to RCA and report submission towards customer closure.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Minimum:
* Good knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
* English & Mathematics GCSE education level or equivalent.
* Knowledge of MS Teams and/or other media platforms.
* Knowledge of IT support media, in particular scanning, copying, and laminating assets.
* Knowledge of 8x8 or similar telephone systems.
* Good understanding of H&S and practical applications.
* Understand and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
* Ability to adhere to agreed timelines.
* Ability to use own initiative.
