Applicants must be suitably experienced, competent and credible for immediate promotion to rank of Sergeant in the West Midlands Police. Constables must have a minimum of three years’ police service and have successfully completed their probation period along with having obtained a pass in the qualifying examination for promotion to the rank of sergeant. West Midlands Police is the second largest police force in the country, covering an area of 348 square miles and serving a population of almost 3 million people.
