We are looking to recruit a band 5 Staff Nurse who wants to work in a busy, dynamic, and friendly Outpatient Department and medical day case unit to deliver a modern-day service in a rural setting.

1. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the department team under the direction of the department manager.
2. To provide effective clinic management.
3. To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
4. To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
5. To provide modern day nursing to our patient group in using IT in clinics.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. 1. Within OPD to carry out a range of nursing tasks that will include, venepuncture, bladder scanning, bladder treatments, flow rate, cardiology diagnostics and support and develop the team.
2. Support visiting teams deliver high quality care for multiple specialities and communicate effectively.
3. Ensure a compassionate environment for patients and families when they attend.
4. Medical day case assess, plan and evaluate care for patient when they attend for drug infusions, blood transfusions, venesection and port care.
5. Work closely with specialist teams to ensure safe care in a rural setting.
6. This is a very unique post as successful candidate will work in both areas which bring a great depth and variety of knowledge and skills.
