About the Role: Provide strategic leadership and vision for the music department, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality and engaging music curriculum across Key Stages 3-5, including A-Level. Direct and develop school choirs, bands, and instrumental ensembles, preparing students for high-profile performances and competitions. Plan and execute a diverse program of musical events, showcasing student talent and fostering a love for music throughout the school community. Contribute to the development of our music curriculum, ensuring it remains innovative, relevant, and aligned with current educational standards. Provide instrumental and vocal tuition, nurturing individual student potential and supporting their musical development. Manage and mentor a team of specialist music teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment. Oversee the maintenance and development of music facilities and resources, ensuring they meet the needs of our students and teachers. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong musical background and expertise in a variety of instruments and musical styles. Proven experience in leading musical ensembles and preparing students for public performances at a high level. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues. A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching music and a passion for fostering a love of music in young people. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to provide strategic direction and support to a team of specialist teachers.
