About the Role
This is a 12-month contract role covering Parental Leave until April 2026. This role is responsible for the transactional accounting functions inclusive of Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable for various clients. This role is also responsible for assisting with month-end finalisation of the entity’s accounts including management and statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Overall financial operations including allocating customer receipts, entering supplier bills & student refunds, and reconciling payable and receivable balances.
2. Perform weekly AR reconciliations between systems, ensuring there are no discrepancies.
3. End-to-end management of weekly/monthly supplier payment process.
4. Monthly bank reconciliations.
5. End-to-end responsibility for payroll management for clients and the company.
6. Calculation of payroll liabilities including leave entitlements, terminations, and redundancy calculations.
7. Accurate and timely lodgements of payroll obligations including superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, and FBT lodgements to the relevant bodies including ATO, State Revenue Offices, Superannuation, and Work Cover providers.
8. Preparing data for BAS lodgements including reviewing transaction reports, identifying errors/anomalies, and updating records.
The right candidate will possess the following:
1. Degree qualification in Accounting related field and/or extensive practical experience.
2. Extensive experience in account reconciliation.
3. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Ability to work with ERP financial software.
5. Exceptional communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
6. Ability to work under high-pressure situations while meeting deadlines and having a commitment to completing any outstanding tasks.
7. Previous experience of working within an RTO (Desirable).
8. Maintain high standards of work practices and ensure integrity, respect, and confidentiality.
