An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated senior nurse to apply for the post of Matron for District Nursing within our Community Services. The post will cover the South Hambleton and Ryedale Nursing Teams and Overnight District Nursing team, however, there will be a requirement to cover for Matron colleagues in the other District Nursing teams across the York and Selby area.
You will be based with the nursing teams on a daily basis and an expectation to travel between bases which include Easingwold, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside. You may also be required to travel to meetings and events across the York and Selby area.
You should be a senior nurse with clinical and managerial experience in District Nursing and can demonstrate the desire and ability to provide strong and visible leadership to promote high standards of clinical care and a supportive working environment for staff. Candidates will be required to demonstrate a high level of leadership, management, and communication skills and will have recent experience at a senior level.
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the overall clinical and operational day-to-day delivery of clinical standards of care and the management of the nursing workforce, in accordance with set objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints, that ensures the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service that meets patient need.
The post will initially be a 6-month secondment with a plan to extend to a permanent position following a review of senior nursing posts within our organisation.
