TRIALS ASSISTANT - INSIDE IR35 - APPROX 6 WEEK CONTRACT
One of Loriens Edinburgh based Public Sector clients is looking for an Trial Assistant to join their team from mid June to late July.
Are you someone who enjoys working in different environments whether outdoors in field trials or in glasshouse and laboratory?
Our client is based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, consisting of offices, laboratories, glasshouses and an experimental farm.
The main role of this post is to carry out field/laboratory trial work on site 5 days per week.The majority of the work will revolve around the collection of data on agricultural and vegetable plants, such as peas and grass, primarily based in outdoor field trials during the peak growing season.
Main Duties of Role
* Maintenance of field trials
* Harvesting plant material
* Recording data from field trials
* Assist with plot assessments
* You should be adaptable to deal with seasonal peaks in workload and be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions to suit the need of the work
Brief summary of role
* To provide support in general maintenance of field trials
* To provide support in raising and harvesting field trials
* To assist with the accurate measurement, description and recording of varietal characteristics on both growing and harvested plant material from trials in glasshouse and field.
Hours of work:
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week, however flexibility during peak periods is necessary.
Due to the nature of this post, staff are required to be onsite at all times.
