It specialises in the production of innovative, standard and consumer products for the food, healthcare, cosmetic and personal care markets. A vacancy has arisen in our Quality Department for a Quality Assurance Technician. Whilst some relevant experience and a background in Quality are desirable, full training will be given regarding our internal systems and you will quickly gain the skills needed to become a valued part of a small, supportive Quality team. Once trained, the successful candidate will work 12 hour shifts in line with the following work pattern - 4 days on (06:00 to 18:00), 4 days off, 4 nights on (18:00 to 06:00), 4 nights off Purpose: Quality Control ( QC ) is a way of identifying and correcting defects and non-conformances in the product. Avoiding problems when delivering solutions to the Quality Management and Manufacturing Management; Scope: To work as part of a team of Quality Team in all aspects of the manufacturing & packaging processes at Berry-Market Rasen Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE Maths and English (minimum Grade 4/C) or equivalent qualification Experience Essential Experience of working in Manufacturing Desirable Previous experience of working in Quality assurance or Quality control Previous experience of manufacturing plastic packaging Key skills and competencies Essential Good computer literacy skills including Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills. Capable of working under pressure, remaining calm and in control. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Previous involvement in decision making within manufacturing. Desirable Use of Sage. Use of measuring equipment, vision systems and leak testers. Proactive approach to preventing problems from occurring. Primary: Ensuring confidence that the quality of Work in Progress and Finished Goods is high. Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity. Conduct start-ups inspections of line clearance. Review Work Orders & In-Process (DPR) documents. Raise any non-conformances identified. Check product for defects during process and raise any non-conformances. Support the re-work documentation and supervise the re- work of product. Raise any issues that require QA to place stock onto Hold in SAGE. Conduct positive release process when required. Support and Review/Investigate held stock in warehouse. Support CAPAs as required and follow through process of documentation to closeout. Check stratified samples as required. Set and inspect quality control systems such as Vision systems and Leak testers. Support production when checking back for faults. Conduct/Support GMP and other factory based audits. Raise any non-conformances for GMP with the Quality Manager. Support Technical Dept with Time trials(etc.) Secondary: Raise Destruction orders and document. Representing Customer and Regulation audits.
