MRP Controller opportunity in Basingstoke Job Type: Full-time Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire Salary: up to £38k per annum DOE As an MRP Controller, you will play a pivotal role in manufacturing and supply chain management, optimising production planning and inventory control through the effective use of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of MRP principles and a keen ability to analyse and improve system processes. Day-to-day of the role: Master Production Schedule (MPS) Management: Develop and maintain the MPS in alignment with sales forecasts and customer demand. Coordinate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to ensure the MPS is realistic and achievable. Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Execute MRP processes to generate purchase orders and production orders. Monitor MRP system performance and identify areas for improvement. Analyse and resolve MRP exceptions to maintain optimal inventory levels. Demand Planning and Forecasting: Predict future customer demand for products by collecting and analysing data on historical sales, market trends, customer behaviour, and other relevant factors. Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to minimise stockouts and excess inventory. Implement inventory control strategies and policies. Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and adjustments. Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. Provide firm & forecast requirement windows to supply chain. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks. Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate reports on inventory levels, production/warehouse performance, and supply chain metrics. Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. System Maintenance: Maintain and update MRP system data, including item master, bill of materials, and routings. Ensure system accuracy and integrity. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong understanding of MRP principles and concepts. Proficiency in MRP software (e.g., ERP systems). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
