Job Purpose:
Creative Artworkers play a crucial role in the Design team, ensuring that product and packaging artwork is accurately created, adapted, and prepared for print. This role requires a keen eye for detail, with a focus on artwork accuracy, typography, and maintaining brand consistency across all assets. Creative Artworkers are also responsible for managing their artwork approvals and ensuring all work is delivered on brief, on brand, accurately and within deadline.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Print Ready Artwork
o Create accurate and considered artwork by following pack copy and creating packaging cut guides to a highly detailed and accurate standard. We look to reduce waste in every way we can and that includes time spent on errors.
o Follow customer and own brand style guides to an exact standard when creating artwork. This also includes working with our certified partners FSC and OPRL.
o Supporting the team to ensure high levels of accuracy and consistency in artwork by carrying out thorough artwork checks for your own projects as well as others.
o In consultation with our Licensed Brand Co-ordinator, and Lead License Brand Manager, review and translate licence brand style guides into commercial artwork for product and packaging, helping to drive innovation and maximization of assets.
o Visually support written instructions through the creation of diagrams and CAD visuals where required.
o Printing, cutting, building physical to-scale mocks of packaging to test sizing or to send to customers for range selection.
o No time to sit back and take it easy. With the support of the Head of Design and Artwork Manager you will manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time. The ability to work under pressure and at pace, whilst also maintaining accuracy is paramount.
2. Artwork Print File Management
o Sending accurate PP and production artwork to production facilities.
o Monitor and ensure jpegs are returned and logged following our artwork confirmation process.
o Managing artwork approvals with licences via online portals and other third parties, such as FSC.
o Working as a team preparing artwork files for sending to production facilities by following our in-house process.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design/Visual Communication
* Proven experience in a design team, preferably within a retail or made-to-order environment, 3-5 years experience preferable.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* Experience in process improvement and template management.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and ability to project manage.
