Geography Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
GSL Education is looking for a qualified Geography Teacher to work at client Secondary Schools in York, North Yorkshire starting in April 2025. Both fully qualified teachers and early career teachers are encouraged to apply.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and informative lessons to secondary level students.
* Design assessments to evaluate students' knowledge and understanding of the subject.
* Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.
* Identify and address the diverse learning needs of students.
* Maintain open communication with parents or guardians to update them on students' progress, areas for improvement, and any concerns related to their academic performance or behavior.
Geography Teacher Requirements:
* Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through a PGCE in Secondary Geography, B.Ed. with QTS, or equivalent.
* Experience teaching GCSE Geography within the last 2 years; A-Level experience is desirable but not essential.
* Be able to provide relevant references from within the last 2 years. Placements for ECTs will be accepted.
* Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
* Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
* Contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
