Head Of Retail Optimisation - National
Overall Purpose of the Job Responsible for driving the optimisation of MAP2 non-food sales, to include beverage, cafes, retail and vending strategy and execution, in order to drive like for like volume and sales growth in all of our sites. This will include coffee, tea and dispensed cold drinks, cafes, retail and vending. Key Responsibilities
* Influence the whole of the hot and dispensed cold drink, cafes, retail and vending offers and stay ahead of trends in the marketplace.
* Utilise the insight available to the business to develop the strategic positioning of our brands and products to clients.
* Foster a coffee culture in the whole business - we are experts.
* Help with the right-size offer and proposition for each site.
* Uses market insight to track the changes in demographics and the appeal of each brand to a specific target market.
* Curate a coffee offering (in conjunction with Foodbuy team) that provides a range of options for our clients to match their needs. This will encompass high street brands, own-label and social enterprises.
* Understand, and be able to recommend the right solution with relevant equipment solutions across barista, semi and full automatics, self-serve, hospitality and vending - hot and cold solutions.
* Support operational teams with pricing, tariffs and margin. Understand the price elasticity in our business.
* Work with Foodbuy team to understand costs and inflation.
* Drive the ESG agenda in hot beverages constantly looking for areas of improvement helping towards our net zero target by 2030 and our commitments to social value.
* Understand each brand's ESG commitments and be able to evaluate, compare and contrast the merits of each.
* Be a subject matter expert to advise operational and sales/retention teams.
* Act as SME in sales bids and retention meetings.
* Work with marketing and UCC on the proposition and development of our own-label coffee offer plus seasonal promotions and offers designed to drive attachment sales.
* Forge relationships with all key suppliers in the market, understand their propositions and offer (including POS and merchandising) and keep abreast of seasonal campaigns designed to drive more sales/margin and ensure that these are communicated and delivered in relevant sites.
* Work with suppliers, UCC and L&D team to ensure that we offer the right training and have consistent quality of product across every site.
* Be the commercial expert between operations and the vending team in order to optimise opportunities, right-size ranging and pricing.
* Work with Foodbuy team to develop vending ranges and contents - snacks, hot and cold drinks and hot food plus innovation in vending offers.
* Audit our retail offers and work with retail experts in the business to ensure that we are maximising the opportunities with the right supplier/s, ranges and pricing.
* Drive innovation on frictionless retail solutions.
* Ensure that we have suitable brand, operational and execution guides for every product stream and brand.
* Support on mobilisation of key contracts. Work with Time2Eat D&T team to develop digital ordering solutions plus loyalty and rewards.

* Experience in delivering strategic / tactical planning
* A self-starter excited about drinks, service and people and has their finger on the pulse of what is current and trending
* Able to quickly build strong partnership relationships with key stakeholders
* Ability to drive change with effective project and stakeholder management skills
* Experience in customer and team engagement
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive and pragmatic approach
* Full clean driving licence
